Péry & Fils, the historic Parisian atelier long associated with Van Cleef & Arpels, Lacloche, and Bulgari. Péry collaborated with Van Cleef & Arpels to create the beloved, endlessly convertible "Passe Partout' jewels, famously modeled by Hélène Arpels at the Chantilly race track in 1939, and the "Zip", the chic and devilishly complex-to-engineer necklace designed and made at the request of the Duchess of Windsor. They have been among the most sought-after collaborators by the famous Parisian jewelry maisons. The house of Gübelin, established in Lucerne in 1854 and still family-owned, has long been associated with expertise in watchmaking and luxury goods. In the 1920s, the firm began creating jewelry, and they also took a scientific approach to dealing in precious stones, opening a small gemological laboratory which is now one of the most important in the world. In addition to its own designs, Gübelin has offered select watches and jewelry by other makers and workshops, such as that of Péry & Fils.
